Boat Loader / Registration - Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival is seeking 35 volunteers to hold boats while paddlers get in them, help with registration, posting results. The festival will take place in Riverside Park on Saturday August 12th, 2017 and there will be two shifts for the volunteers: 07:30 am - 12:30 pm & 12:00 pm & 05:00 pm. Special Events / Fundraising:
The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers for HUNGER HEROES FUNDRAISING CONCERT ON JULY 15TH. We need a Mobile Kitchen Helper to assist in serving food (by donation) to guests of our fundraising concert. Volunteer will be kitchen-oriented, Food Safe preferred but not necessary. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kamloops are seeking event volunteers for their upcoming “Interior Savings Moonlight Movie”
The event volunteer will assist with activities, engage the attendees to get involved, be present and help at booth, sell glow sticks. Event is at Riverside Park on July 25th from 6:30-9:00pm. Please call Jesanne at 250-374-6134 ext 223 Must be 14+ to volunteer

EUReKA SCIENCE PROGRAM NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR JULY 4TH-AUGUST 25TH. The volunteer instructor is responsible for classroom support for the EUReKA SCIENCE PROGRAM summer camps. They help the instructors in the classroom and work directly with children, ages 7-13. Volunteers must be enthusiastic about learning science, should have some experience working with youth or at least be very interested in working with children and take direction well. Overlander Residential Care – Auxiliary seeking Auxiliary Members to join the Auxiliary to Overlander (cost $6.00/year) to attend 10 meetings a year, 2nd Tuesday September to June. Participate in Fundraising Events and may assist with Tuesday morning weekly Craft Group (supplies provided) and may assist with Gift Shop. The Gleaning Abundance Program is looking for Harvest Leaders to help ensure the success of each and every pick. The Harvest Leaders make sure all gleaning volunteers know how to pick and sort the fruit and use a ladder safely. They weigh the harvest, coordinate the split and delivery. Must be personable, responsible, reliable people 18+. Harvest season June to November 7 days a week, 8am – 6pm.Contact Sandra Frangiadakis, Project Coordinator – 250-851-6111.

Salvation Army: is seeking Emergency Disaster Services Helpers. This is on-going volunteer positions that requires volunteers to be ready as it is on-call as needed. Volunteer will provide food, hydration, and/or spiritual/emotional care to victims of disaster. Duties include driving, cooking, serving, making phone calls, stocking canteens and warehouse, cleaning and detailing equipment. Training will be provided, in order to stay qualified volunteers must participate in at least 2 exercises/real world events annually. Volunteers must be older than 19 years old.
