Wanted Barriere man accused of theft from dead person’s home
BARRIERE, B.C. — RCMP in Barriere are looking for a 30-year-old man wanted in a theft case with a disturbing twist.
In a news release, Cpl. Rob Welsman says the detachment launched an investigation in late April after the Louis Creek home of a recently-deceased person was the scene of a break-and-enter. The thief took various items from the home.
Two weeks after the theft, RCMP responding to a car crash in McLure found items belonging to the deceased person, including a number of cheques.
Investigators believe the cheques were used in the fraudulent purchase of a vehicle.
