Classes to Compete for Kamloops Grade 7 Dragon Boat Title

As the school year winds down 160 elementary students will be competing with their classes to be named as the City’s Elementary School Dragon Boat Champions. The goal of the event is to give grade 7 students a way to end their last year of elementary school by having fun and working as a team with their classmates. Each day a different group of classes will learn basic Dragon Boat paddling and teamwork techniques followed by 3-4 races. This Festival will be run by KCKC from June 22nd – 23rd at Shumway Lake Water Sports Center located 19km South of Kamloops on “The Old Merritt – Kamloops Highway”.

This event could not have happened without the generous support of the Kamloops Dragon Boat Club who loaned boats and trailers from their Pioneer Park location.
