The Kamloops Blaze U15 Girls played in the Surrey SX cup on the weekend in the U16/U17 Girls Metro Division.

In their first game against the SUSC Fusion (Surrey), the Blaze dominated and had many good scoring opportunities but only managed 1 goal by Daisy Dalke. The Blaze faced the NSGSC Renegades (North Shore) in their second game and it was a very even match that ended in a scoreless tie.

On Sunday the Blaze suffered their first loss of the season, losing 1-0 to a strong CMFSC Shock (Coquitlam) team. Kamloops struggled to gain possession against the older team in the first half but played a solid second half to hold their own. In their final game against the CMFSC Rebels (Coquitlam), the Blaze dominated the game but weren't able to convert their scoring opportunities into goals. The game ended scoreless when it was called part-way through the second half after an injury to one of the Rebel players.

Kila Pigeon had a strong weekend in goal for Kamloops.

The Blaze have a friendly game against the Juventus Tier 1 (Edmonton) team on July 3 at 10am at McArthur Island Field #3. They'll then finish their season at the B Cup provincials in Surrey July 6 - 9.
