The Blaze U15 girls played a friendly game against the Edmonton Juventus Tier 1 team on Monday, July 3 at MacArthur Island.
The first half of the game was a close battle that ended scoreless, thanks to some key saves from Kamloops goalkeeper Kila Pigeon.
Edmonton opened the scoring in the second half but Kamloops came back strong with two unanswered goals - the first from Nicole Thomas on a penalty kick and the second from Natalie Knight. Defenseman Maya Zimmerman also came within inches of scoring on a free kick, hitting the cross bar.
The game ended with Kamloops up 2-1.
The team's last event of the season is the B Cup provincials in Surrey on July 6-9.
