PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. — The Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia has unveiled its expanded terminal, which doubles the facility’s cargo capacity.

Dubai-owned DP World’s two-year project means the Fairview Container Terminal is now the second-largest such facility in Canada, after the Port of Vancouver.

General manager of DP World Canada Maksim Mihic says the expansion provides shipping lines and cargo owners with fast, reliable container service and close proximity to Asia.

Canadian National Railway president Luc Jobin, whose company has exclusive access to the terminal, says the Port of Prince Rupert has become a premier place on the global trade map.
