Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club will be hosting the first annual “Dragon 7” Dragon Boat Championships. The Dragon 7 Cup will give local Grade 7 students a way to celebrate the end of their final year of elementary school and create lasting memories by working together as a team all while having fun. Each class will spend one day learning the basics of paddling and practice teamwork with experienced instructors in authentic Dragon Boats. Competitors will have 3-4 races against other Kamloops Schools the same day. The winners will have bragging rights as the top Grade 7 team in the city and have their class name engraved on the “Dragon 7 Cup”. The trophy will then be displayed at their school for a year. Up to 8 classes will compete at Shumway Lake Water Sports Center located 20 minutes south of Kamloops. The day includes hotdogs, music and some great scenery. Cost is $20 per student.

Spaces have gone quickly but there is still one spot open for Friday June 23rd. For more details or to reserve a spot, contact Michelle via email at: kckcopsmanager@gmail.com
