KCKC Head Coach Stanislav Marek has coached world champion dragon boat teams and was asked what he thought of the Kamloops Students. “This was really great to see. For many of these kids it was their first time in a boat or doing something like this. They had great team spirit. They were excited and raced really hard. Although everyone wanted to win I think they all had a good time with swimming and spending time on the water.”

Members of the Kamloops Dragon Boat Club were on hand to help the students; as for many of them this was their first experience on the water in any kind of paddling craft. Coach Marek was grateful for their support “ This Festival would never have happened without the Kamloops Dragon Boat Club (KDBC)” KDBC provided boats, trailers, extra equipment and volunteers with the goal of encouraging Kamloops youth to get and stay active.
