KCKC to Host 2nd Annual Grade 7 Dragon Boat Championships June 15th

June 7th will be an exciting day for 125 of the City’s Grade 7 Students who will be competing for the Kamloops Grade 7 Dragon Boat Cup title. The goal of the event is to give grade 7 students a way to end their last year of elementary school by having fun and working as a team with their classmates. Each of the classes participating will learn basic Dragon Boat paddling and teamwork techniques followed by 3-4 races. This Festival will be run at Shumway Lake Water Sports Center located 19km South of Kamloops on “The Old Merritt – Kamloops Highway”. The has spent the last year at Summit Elementary who took first place with at time of 0:59:38 for the 200 meter sprint course.
