Mosquito Playoffs Underway

Round robin play, also known as ‘Super Saturday’, has conclude for the 11u Mosquito Playoffs afer each of the 9 teams played 2 games. Teams are now seededto play for the Mosquito Cup in both the Gold and Silver brackets.

The Fireballs take top Seed in the Gold Championship bracket going 2-0 on the strength of Dominic Brunette’s offensive power. Brunette led the Fireballs on the day going 4/4 with 2 triples, a double, single, and 2 walks.

The Rake City Red Sox are the top seed for the Silver Championship. Leading the way for the Red Sox was Jacob Petrie, going 4/4 with 4 singles and 5 runs scored.

Gold and Silver Championship games are schedule for June 22

PW RiverDogs Team #1

The Kamloops Peewee T1 Riverdogs had their league playoffs this weekend, and finished their season off by winning the GOLD medal.

The Riverdogs T1 team had a very successful spring season, winning the River City Classic Tournament, and the League Tournament this weekend. They ended their season with only one loss and one tie, winning the rest of their games. All 12 of the boys contributed to every win, with a positive attitude, having fun while doing it.

They played well all weekend, with the final game keeping everyone on their toes. Penticton tied it up in the 6th inning, and the game went into extra innings. Kamloops played a great game, and ended the game in the bottom of the 10th with a big win.

Matthew MacDonald – 2/3 of an inning, 3 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks and 1 K
Nick Liu came in for the 6th inning and pitched 5 innings, going into extra innings until the bottom of the 10th. He pitched the game of his life, to take the Riverdogs to gold. 4 hits, no runs, 2 walks and 5 k’s .

Nick was stellar at the plate with 2 singles, a double, 2 runs and a stolen base. No surprise to anyone that Nick was MVP.

PW Interlock #2

The Kamloops River Dogs Team 2 placed fourth in the weekend playoffs in Penticton.
The Dogs came out fast and furious winning first 2 games. They lost the next 2 games and finished with a decent fourth place finish.

Midget AAA RiverDogs

The Kal Tire Midget RiverDogs split their games against Chilliwack on Sunday.

Game 1

Game 1 was a pitching duel that went 9 innings. Starting pitcher Jared Pringle had a perfect game going into the 6th inning before he allowed his 1st baserunner with one out. Pringle only gave up 2 hits over 7 shutout innings with 6K’s.
Tallis McLeod came in relief giving up 1 run on 2 hits over 1 2/3 inning with one walk and one K.

At the plate:

Rhys McKenzie, Bailey English and Jordan Calibaba had the 3 Dogs hits.
