Kamloops Blaze U16 Select Girls – Slurpee Cup Results

The Kamloops Blaze U16 Select Girls took part in the annual Slurpee Cup tournament over the Victoria Day long weekend.

Their first game was on Saturday at McArthur Island against “Edmonton Victoria”; it ended in a 0 – 0 tie. Kila Pigeon was the keeper and also received MVP for the game.

The girls had their second game on Sunday at the Tournament Capital Ranch and lost 1 – 0 against “McKenzie United Magic” from a penalty kick. Sadie Moyer was the keeper and Natalie Knight received MVP.

Monday offered 2 games, the first against “Calgary Blizzard” at the Cottonwood field. Satinka Manuel, defense, made a beautiful save in goal with a header. The girls held a 0 – 0 tie at halftime, but Calgary scored 2 goals in the second half, winning 2 – 0. Kila Pigeon was the keeper and Maiya Zimmerman received MVP.
