Kamloops Blaze U16 Girls Win Silver at B Cup Provincials

The Kamloops Blaze U16 Girls placed second at the B Cup provincials held in Kamloops July 5 – July 9.

Kamloops placed first in their group after three round-robin games:
– Thursday, July 5: tied Surrey United Heat 1-1
– Friday, July 6: beat Juan de Fuca 1-0
– Saturday, July 7: tied Kelowna United 1-1

Kamloops played the Vancouver United Comets on Sunday, July 8 in the U16 championship game but lost 4-1.

Kamloops goals were scored by Fiona Brisco (2G), Katie Gregson (1G) and Rebecca Ward (1G).

Goal-keeping duties were shared by Kila Pigeon (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday games) and Sadie Moyer (Friday game).

After dedicating many years to coaching girls’ soccer, Ryan Strank announced his retirement from soccer coaching. Ryan was named the “Select Coach of the Year” for 2018 by KYSA. Thanks to Ryan for all his effort and time over the years!
